I'm Jim — a developer and builder living in New York. I've been shipping software for a long time and self-hosting most of what I run. This site is the home for projects, writing, and a way to get in touch.
I work primarily in C# and TypeScript, run a small lab of services on a home server, and write up what I learn along the way. I'm extroverted in the lower-case sense: I like to talk about software, share notes early, and trade ideas in public.
I grew up outside Syracuse and studied Computer Engineering at Syracuse University. Since then I've spent time on the VB IDE team at Microsoft, real-time risk systems at Liquidnet, the early engineering team at Jet.com, Droplet Monitoring at DigitalOcean, an ML accelerator compiler at Groq, and most recently Reality Labs at Meta working on Orion and the Meta Rayban smart glasses.
I'm currently taking a few years off from employment to build through Extroverted Developer, LLC. Active bets: Midly, a dating app, and Taskleef, a kanban tool that actually enforces WIP limits and done rules. This site is where I write up what I learn along the way.
