Today in I love AI,

My son got some scratches on our car. Small but deep to the metal. I don’t really care about the esthetics so I’m not going to go to the body shop to get an exact paint match or whatever. I asked ChatGPT what I could do – it’s advice: Primer + Nailpolish. Done.

I went to Autozone and was suddenly hit with a delema I’ve had a million times in my life. There are 50 different kinds of primer on this shelf. I have no idea which one to get or why.

Normally I’d stand there for an hour reading the labels, only to inevitably take home the wrong thing. This time, I snapped a photo of the shelf inside that and said “Which one?”

ChatGPT thought for a long time, and then just told me the answer. Top left, Gray cap with Red label that’s for priming + sanding. Then explained why.

When I was a kid, I watched 2D cartoon shows. There was maybe 1 or 2 shows that had just started to do 3D by the time I grew out of cartoons and I refused to watch them. To be fair the 3D in the 90s was more Lawnmower Man than Final Fantasy.

Now days my son refuses to watch anything that’s not 3D. Which is fine because everything from Smurfs to Garfield have been redone as 3D shows.
